Tanzania: NBS releases micro data sets

February 9, 2011

In a remarkable move, the National Bureau of Statistics in Tanzania has publicly released 11 micro data sets. This is a very encouraging move. After all, Statistical Agencies are in much better position to release data than Open Micro Data. If you decide to get any of NBS data sets, please tell OMD what your experiences are.

Links to the different data sets can be found below:

NBS’ website has been experiencing trouble and is under renovation. As a consequence the links below no longer work. Most data sets can also be obtained from OMD however. We will restore the appropriate links as soon as the new website is up — OMD 19 May 2011

    Hi,

The NBS website is not working. Is there any way you can put up dropbox links so I can download these datasets from OMD directly? I am interested in doing some research using them.

    Thank you,

It appears these data sets are available again on the NBS site here: http://www.nbs.go.tz/tnada/index.php/catalog. Seems you need to request access, however.
