Uganda: learning assessment by Uwezo (2010)

Uwezo has carried out a learning assessment in 27 districts, covering over 16,000 households and testing more than 34,000 children between the ages of 6 and 16. Data from this survey can be found by clicking below. Uwezo data for Kenya and Tanzania are also available on openmicrodata.

Tanzania: Anti corruption survey (2009)

The PCCB in Tanzania released the report for the 2009 anti corruption survey. OMD does not (yet) have the raw data, but the reports (4 volumes) can be downloaded from here.

Tanzania: Economic Surveys 2004 – 2009

The Economic Survey is the statistical abstract for Tanzania prepared by the Ministry of Finance. It comprises administrative data that is presented to parliament (Bunge) during the budget session. The 2004 Economic Survey is presented to the Bunge Session covering the fiscal year 2005/2006; the 2005 Economic Survey covers fiscal year 2006/7 etc..

The Economic Survey comprises a set of tables covering a diverse area including: National Accounts, GDP, Inflation, Population, agricultural production, exports, imports, tourism, credit, electricity, health, education, railways and postal services.

The tables can be downloaded from here (XLS format).

Tanzania: NBS releases micro data sets

In a remarkable move, the National Bureau of Statistics in Tanzania has publicly released 11 micro data sets. This is a very encouraging move. After all, Statistical Agencies are in much better position to release data than Open Micro Data. If you decide to get any of NBS data sets, please tell OMD what your experiences are.
